Eagle's 40th Anniversary continues at Bicester Heritage Scramble

To continue the celebration we took a selection of 6 special Eagle E-types to Bicester for their hugely popular Sunday Scramble event. The scramble is a quarterly event that sees thousands of interesting cars gather and park around the historic RAF Bicester site. The events always have an amazing atmosphere with true enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds brought together.

2024 marks our 40th year restoring and improving the Jaguar E-Type and in that time we have become the acknowledged world-leading authority on these wonderful machines. The company has grown and developed significantly in that time - but our singular focus and passion has remained as strong as it was in those founding early years.

Our anniversary celebrations started earlier this year when we displayed a collection of both our and customer cars at the excellent Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club Summer Festival at Gaydon. On the 4th of October we brought along six very special Eagle E-types to Bicester Heritage for the hugely popular Sunday Scramble. This quarterly event sees thousands of fascinating cars gather and park across the historic ex- RAF Bicester site, now home to a multitude of businesses connected to the preservation, protection and restoration of classic and historic vehicles.

The Scramble always has an amazing atmosphere with enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds brought together to celebrate the world of motoring.

We are huge fans of these Scramble events - in part due to the sheer variety of cars on display. This time they ranged from the groundbreaking new Gordon Murray T50s though to a priceless pre-war Bugatti Type 35, immaculate 1980s hot hatches and everything in between.

We brought along Low Drag GT No.5, Speedster No.4, Speedster No.2, Eagle No.36, Eagle No.49 and Eagle No.17 - showcasing the broad range of E-Types that we offer here at Eagle - with many of them representing key milestones in our development over the years.

Speedster No.2 is a foundational part of our story as it was the car used for all of the press and media shoots around the the official Speedster launch in 2011. Many people recognise this car from Jeremy Clarkson’s glowing review on Top Gear where he declared it 'the most beautiful thing he had ever seen'.It was scanned and photographed to be recreated as a drivable model in the fantastically successful Forza Horizon video games and also featured on film in Fast & Furious 6.

Speedster No.2 has been retained in our private collection since the launch and we still very much enjoy showcasing it at events around the world.

Speedster No.4 had its own special display space away from the Eagle display beneath the bright lights of the Hagerty Clubhouse as it had been selected to be displayed alongside a Gordon Murray T50 and four Ferrari 275s to celebrate the 60th anniversary of that model. Speedster No.4 is currently available for sale with us and offers a rare opportunity to acquire a Speedster without the lengthy associated waiting list.

The three Eagle E-Type Roadsters on our stand are all also currently available.

Eagle No.49 is offered with just our pre-delivery road test mileage and in stunning metallic green paintwork over red leather interior, this represents an unrepeatable opportunity to acquire an as new and unused Eagle E-type without the waiting list.

Eagle No.36 has covered just 4,387 miles since the full restoration and again has a very well thought out specification. The colour combination of Gunmetal over red interior is universally appreciated on E-types for good reason.

Eagle No.17 was restored and upgraded by us in 2005, almost 20 years ago. This acts as a testament to Eagle restorations; after covering almost 7,000 miles over 19 years it still looks as if it could have been restored this year!

All of the team really enjoyed the event and we were very pleased to chat to so many like-minded enthusiasts about the cars. It was also brilliant to see the next generation of young enthusiasts recognise our cars and keen to find out more information.

We had better get planning our 50th anniversary!
